Short Vowels and Pronunciation
Arabic uses short vowel marks called "harakat" (حركات) to help with pronunciation.
These are usually not written in everyday text, but they're essential for learning!

The Three Main Short Vowels:

Fatha (فَتْحَة)
"a" sound - ba
بِ
Kasra (كَسْرَة)
"i" sound - bi
بُ
Damma (ضَمَّة)
"u" sound - bu

Remember:
- 🔴 Fatha (َ) = "a" sound (like in "cat")
- 🔵 Kasra (ِ) = "i" sound (like in "bit")
- 🟢 Damma (ُ) = "u" sound (like in "put")
- 📚 These marks help you pronounce words correctly
- 👁️ In everyday writing, these marks are usually not shown
